Symonds Yat to Monmouth.

It was a rather grey day but with the pressing need to 'get out' following the Christmas festivities four of us made our way over to Symonds Yat. I was looking forward to having a play with my open on the rapids but this was tinged with some apprehension that I would end up mowing down hordes of play boaters as I don't have as much control as I would like (or perhaps the play boaters would like!). As it happened the car park was deserted - in fact the whole river was deserted and we had an hour's messing about followed by the paddle on down to Monmouth without seeing another boat. While taking a breather, a very tame robin landed alongside and spend some time inspecting. There's a prize for anyone who can spot it in the photo!
